I am not sure I think I am addicted to coins. The reason I say this that I go to the coin shop about once a week, visit this site 5 or 6 times a day, and over the weekend went to Chucky Cheeses with my Son and Nefews. I could not help but look at the dates on the tokens. So I think I might be addicted to coins or just love them not sure.

So are you addicted to coins, Love, or just average collecter

I like historic artefacts, coins just happen to be one type.

I am NOT addicted as long as I get a coin fix every few days! This helps me avoid withdrawal symptoms!

I dunno, it comes in fits and starts. Sometimes all I want to do is look at coins, and other times my other hobbies take over. I'll get on a gardening kick, or I'll start crocheting like crazy (you have no idea how many half finished afghans I have...) or something and the coins take a back seat. Guess that way I don't get burned out on anything.

Seems like a funny question at first, but then it makes you think. Depends on definition. When does love turn to addiction?

For me, the love part comes into play when I get out my coin albums and look at what I have, or go into my coin shop and buy a coin which I have been wanting. The addiction part is noticible in that I MUST look at every single coin found in my pocket change. No coin escapes.

I'm definitely addicted, although the addiction comes and goes. Lately, it has been low, but I feel it rising again. I automatically look at every coin that passes through my hands, and when the addiction is at a high level, I spend quite a bit of money on coins.

My addiction runs to more than just coins; it is a general collecting/hoarding addiction. I've considered that it may even qualify as a disorder! Anybody who has over 21,000 wheat cents, over 5,000 records, and over 2,000 CDs certainly has some sort of addiction. I have so many of these things that I can't even deal with them all; sometimes I feel like I am buried in stuff. At least coins are small, and records and CDs aren't that big either. One of my friends collects arcade games, and he is drowning in them. I'm glad I haven't started on that! (Although I must admit that the idea has seemed appealing at times...)

My answer would be similar to Rachel's but it's because of the Internet, I think. There's just too much of everything everywhere that sometimes it all starts to feel like a job and that's when it's time to turn this sucker off and read a book.

I think addicted is the right word.

I can look at a coin and think "that's a nice one I'll buy it." Thats Love.

I can look at some new issues and think, "What a lousy design", or "that's too expensive", but I must have it for my collection and buy it anyway. That's addicted.

I think toast has a good definition, and according to that, I love coins.
The only way to make me have a coin with a lousy design is to give it for free :lol
Even when I need a coin to complete a set but I don't like it, I think twice.

Haven't you learned by now that coins and collecting is exactly like a woman. Your never sure you know what to do with them, but at the same time you are sure you can't live without them. Is it love or addiction? You pay your money and take your chances! Either way, It's a whole lot of fun.
