2005 Penny With Lines Struck Through It

Hi,

It appears this penny was struck through a foreign object. Has anyone seen a similar pattern on a coin? Also, is there any value.

Looks like a Finger print. It's a good example of why it's best to hold a coin on the edge

@b123, for sure those vertical lines are surface staining. @jasper offers one possibility, but in looking at prior CCF threads, it seems as though we sometimes attribute these to contact with cardboard. See below link for one example:

Those lines are certainly not 'struck' on the coin. Given the size and separation of the lines (mostly straight and parallel), they don't appear to be your everyday finger or palm prints. Now if Godzilla had fingers...
