Don't know if this is an error or not or if it adds any value but wanted to ask what does this to a coin and how does it get so many different colors. I love this coin error or not and already put it in a 2x2 to keep in my small but growing collection. Found a 1911S Penny right before I found this so that is a good one to go into the collection as well

Probably from heat, but any number of things can tone cents.

Right, also toning is not a mint error. It is pretty, so keep it if you want to, though.

Just an unnatural color most likely from being subject to heat and or open flame .
