It is 28mm x 35mm and weighs 10g. As usual, any thoughts regarding attribution, age, rarity, etc. would be greatly appreciated. If anyone might know the meaning of the characters on the reverse and / or if it is Japanese, Chinese, Korean, other? it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration.

I translated some of the characters from Chinese script, top left : Wide, (#24291;) Bottom right is Yuán (#28304;)

That's as far as I can get, I'm sure someone will know what it is.

@litp, have you looked on primaltrek yet? That is my go-to website for Chinese charms.

Thanks Spence good idea. However a source I emailed gave me the following information:

The front shows the Chinese God of Wealth holding a banner (gong xi fa cai) which is a common saying during the Chinese New Year wishing a person prosperity in the new year.

The Chinese (cai yuan guang jin) on the reverse side has the general meaning of "may you enjoy prosperity".

This is a modern medal/charm.

Thanks everyone for their help & input.
