I am trying to locate the current owner of a battered silver Gauss medallion, sold by a member of the Gauss family some years ago.
This would be the commemorative medal struck upon Gauss' death.
If anyone should know this individual will you please let them know I am looking for it?
I can be reached via reply to this topic.
Thank you!

@Grenada, perhaps you could fill in some of the details. It looks like you posted pics of this medal on CCF back in 2010 (good job @ussid18 for finding that thread). At that time you were only aware of a single one made in silver (yours). Did you sell it and now are looking to get it back?

Also, just to be clear, there are rules on CCF about buying and selling: http://goccf.com/t/221419 as the focus of this website is really more about education than being a marketplace.

Thanks Spence. I was confused as well. I needed a reality check.

Yes, Spence, I am looking for the person I had sold it to on ebay years back. There are current family members that are now interested in having it again in their company.
I recall the guy I sold it to had the bronze version and had been looking for the silver one. Unlikely yes but worth a try.

The medal is from the German Kingdom of Hannover. So if you search German coin sites or auction catalogs you should look under Hannover medals. Under medals they often list this medal type under famous people medals or awards. Good luck!
