The fields are free of any large nicks and the marks on the portrait are all small. The luster seems strong. Not full bell lines, unfortunately. Report this Post to the Staff

biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 11/17/2008 12:35 pm I would call it MS64, there are several small scattered marks but no large detractors. If it had one decent sized bagmark, then it would be a 63. Conversely, take away the brow scuff and a nick on the shoulder and another on the bell lines and it would probably make 65. I find this Franklin to be very attractive due to the clean fields which can be difficult to find. I believe that the weakness of the eaglet is due to die overpolishing- notice the little "thingees" sticking out of the bottom sides of the bell yoke- the one on the right above the eaglet is small and disconnected from the yoke, a sure sign of detail loss due to overpolishing. IMO, that should only affect the result in gem grades(65+). Report this Post to the Staff
