I'm new to the forum and am looking for some advice. I have a childhood collection of pre-1979 Iranian banknotes. The collection is comprehensive and includes multiple uncirculated notes of all currency printed since WWII.
I have just realized that this collection may have significant value. I contacted one of the large auction houses and sent them my collection for grading. Haven't signed anything yet but my initial thinking was that they would put it up for auction.
My question is whether this is the way to go. The auction fees will add up as will the high tax burden from selling them through an auction house. I welcome any advice from experienced members on this topic
