Possibly a token of the Hull Steam Fishing and Ice Company, operating from Hull and Billingsgate, late 1800's UK.

No. 11339

Can anyone add any info / approx value.

The tally is quite common and not worth much I'm afraid. The countermarked numbers range from the two thousands on my specimen to well into the eleven thousands on your specimen. This suggests a lot were made.

I would direct you to the articles:

'Trawler Owners' Market Tallies' by Arthur Berry in Token Corresponding Society Bulletin Vol. 5 No. 12 (September 1997) pp.466-470

and

'Market tallies from Hull.' by Bob Williams "Quill Corner" Token Corresponding Society Bulletin Vol.6 No.1 (January 1998) p.27.

They give a bit of background to these tallies.
