Three-Kauai-Coins-In-Case-With-914-Stamped-On-Front.-1973

We recently bought a house from a high ranking airforce pilot which had these Kauai coins in the attic. I have not found any on the web which has the 914 stamped on the front of the coin. What is the significance of the 914?

@jb, first welcome to CCF. Second, perhaps the "914" indicates that this was set #914 (perhaps out of 1,000 made). Third, I'm going to move your thread over to the tokens and economists section of CCF to get some more eyeballs on it. Despite the packaging, I'm not sure that these are coins intended for circulation.

I have similar ones issued in single snap tights,

tourist issues, made by the 1,000s ... probably in the 10 of thousands.

Kauai Dollars!

Simon Cordova created the "Checklist of Hawaiian Municipal So-Called Dollars of the 20th Century". His webpage expired, but the last snapshot of the website can be seen at

Search key words "Kauai Dollar"
