With the price of silver these days. My wife has a bunch of coins from her father she thinks she wants to sell, She has no interest in collecting and I'm into pennies and nickels. Mostly 50 cent from 40's and 50's some dollars . We are at least 5.5 hours from any coin shop so don't know where to start. any suggestions? thanks

J&M in Vancouver offer good prices and are reliable. As long as you are not talking about $1000s of silver, I would speak with them and mail them out.

You might try Kijiji also. I recently sold a large lot of bulk silver at about 95% of spot, which is better than any professional buyer would pay.

Depending on volume, London Gold Buyers in Ontario will sometimes even pay the shipping costs. It can't hurt to call the major silver buyers and dealers across Canada.

I am assuming you have already checked for anything of value?

Part of it depends on how much you have. Ebay can also work.

Thanks for the info I'm in central B C . I don't think there is anything great in the lot. There are a few varieties that Paul wrote about in the 61st edition from the forties , but not in to high a grade I would think. I'm no expert though.

Most towns of any size have a bullion buyer or two or three.
Here on the edge of nowhere in BC there are three, hard to find, you have to ask around or scour the local ads online. One actually will match current J&M pricing.
I'm sure there are similar buyers in your area.

Kelowna Coin and Currency in downtown Kelowna (on Ellis) is probably your closest bet. Call them and describe your situation.

Good luck, let us know what happens.
