XF40 probably details. the hit on the obverse field is pretty deep and multiple scratches across the bottom of the cap and upper hair area that are pretty bad

That hit in the obverse field is about 1 mm long, and those scratches are probably barely perceptible on a half dime. It might detail if it were a half dollar, but I think this would straight grade.

I agree with Zurie. Really small coins make small blemishes look huge. Just like silver 3 cents, a very small nick looks huge on one. Then factor in the age of it... I'll say EF-40.

EF-40 and it will most likely straight grade.
