I have researched this prior to posting but was not able to find the error I found on this particular State Quarter. It looks like for a lack of a better term, snake swimming above the water. I have yet been able to see another instance of this in my research. Thoughts?

It's a reeded rim hit from another coin. Better known as damage.

25 cents, unless it's silver.

It's a mark from another coins reeded edge.

To bad it's not down in the water. Then it would have looked kinda like Nessie, the Lock Ness Monster.

The first US coin motto was found on a 1792 half disme and read: "LIB (erty) PAR (ent) OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY"

I myself would not be surprised to have a Nessie sighting under the Claiborne Pell Bridge...aka Newport Bridge.
