Can anyone tell me if this is somekind of error of the planchet, PMD or just corrosion? Just want to be sure

Could be corrosion, perhaps from being immersed in seawater?

I was also thinking that, but would it not be moore smooth and all round corroded? Appears like some spots in the first picture are really uneven compared to 2nd picture.

Ok well I don't see how the coin could be struck like this. I'm still thinking it is damage from corrosion.

I would guess combination of PMD and corrosion/environmental damage. Damaged ares would subsequently corrode more easily.

These coins were uniformly well struck to the best of my knowledge. Tons of good looking examples on eBay.
