I'll totally agree. eBay has got to the point of absurd and ridiculous. It really saddens me to see the crap eBay allows. I use to try an educate these kind of sellers but most of them just give you the finger so I just don't go there anymore. eBay is not for beginners. If you don't know variety's and errors I would not recommend eBay to anyone. I've had some good buys but I see more and more people getting ripped off.

It's disturbing over the last few years how bad it has got. I mean theres always been this kind of stuff going on but just seems a hundred times worse these days. Personally I don't use Ebay anymore and Etsy- sheesh even worse. Too frustrating for me to bother.

Sadly, seems like so many more people think they have something they don't and choose to stay uninformed, while the others are just looking to take advantage of the uninformed. I feel it will unfortunately only continue to get worse.

I have noticed this more on Etsy. I am new to coin collecting. Last week, I saw a quarter identical to one I have. I contacted the seller and told him, then I asked who authenticates what he says about his quarter. I am still waiting for his reply. His site says he replies within a couple hours. I'm not holding my breath. I clearly am clueless about collectible coins, but I am not stupid enough to fall for his scamming.

Quote: but I am not stupid enough to fall for his scamming. You can't let your guards down, not sure ,ask questions, research. some of these crafty cheeters have become very good at manufacturing fakes, for example the grind down surfaces seem to have gained momentum and even those who've been collecting for sometimes are falling for them and buying them.We all need to pull together, report them and fight them off, we can make a difference.
