So, the ANACS grade is 64. I bought it for $600 with the hopes of flipping it for a profit.
Interesting note. There were 2 1885 CC
Morgan dollars in the display. This one and a mid-generation
PCGS. Both were graded 64 and the dealer was asking the same price for both. The
PCGS coin did not even hold a candle to this coin. It was scuffed up in so many places.
I believe that I will send this in to
PCGS possibly have them conserve it. If it comes back a 64, I will probably break even on the sale, a 65 I will make a $100 or so. I would rather not mention the other "if"s. I will definitely keep you updated on the grade when it is in.
