No offence to the designer or where you're from.
Have you wondered sometimes who were the designers?
These coins are my least favorites when it comes to design.

Honestly I like the bats. My least favorite state/ATB quarter designs are the really busy ones like Florida.

I like the bats, too.

I could post more than a few Statehood Quarters here, but I will leave that to everyone else.

@JBUCK the Idaho 2007 State Quarter is one mean looking bird.

When bats are this close together, they are mating.

I like Ike, but
I don't really like Ikes. IMO, they don't flatter one of the most famous commanders of the 20th Century.

The original map on Euro coins looks like a somewhat of an embarrassing mistake. Sweden looks a bit male proboscis looking. Not good.

@Sel_691, Some designers don't think coin, maybe.

The only Roosevelt dime I have in my collection is a nice 49S for the type set. There are others in mint and proof sets I have but
I am really tired of FDR.
My favorite album!

Oh man I feel like I could write a whole book on this topic. There are so many new designs that bother me from the type face to incorrect details to the poor arrangement of details; in my eyes we have certainly left the renaissance of coin design behind.

I could easily rip on several of the modern commemoratives, I've seen many that feel uninspired, bland, and poorly thought out, however, I am going to stray away from listing a bunch of those.

I think my least favorite coin currently is the staring-into-your-soul 2006-Date Jefferson nickel obverse or the plain-as-a-desert 2018-Date Innovation Dollar obverse. Though I feel I should also mention the 2021 silver eagle redesign and the 1986-2021 gold bullion reverse.

Alright, rant over... for now

No offence to my friend X2an in Sweden, but this is one of my less favourite designs.

My all-time least favourite designs are probably the Dutch coins issued from 1982 until the adoption of the Euro. The design is in low relief and the portrait of the Queen is an insult! What makes things even worse is that these coins wore very badly after only a short circulation:
Not to be outdone, their neighbours in Belgium issued some almost equally ugly coins a few years later!

There are many beautiful coins within the classic US commemorative coin series. Many of the coins were designed by leading artists/sculptors of the day - and it shows!

And then you have the reverse of the half dollar for the George Washington Carver-Booker T. Washington series. It is, IMO, the most amateurish design of the entire series. The map of the US is distorted, multiple states are improperly sized and/or shaped and Delaware was completely left off the map! But I guess when you see what was done to Maryland, leaving off Delaware almost seems kind!

It is embarrassingly bad IMO!

Here's a larger image from PCGS CoinFacts that makes the issues much easier to see.
