This was a cherrypick, but hardly makes much matter at the price level of this coin. There can be very little difference in price between a normal coin and the RPM given how expensive the coin is in the first place. But I've been looking for this RPM on an MS coin for a while, and when this one came up I figured it would be as high a grade as I would ever afford so I jumped in and actually won the auction. It'll have to get reholdered at some point, but if done today it would be POP 2/5 so I'm pretty happy with where it comes in. 1909 S/S Lincoln Wheat cent RPM-001, FS-1501 PCGS MS64RD

Fantastic coin! A favorite error that I sold long ago was a Mint State 1909 S over horizontal S, but it wasn't this nice. I really LOVE your collection! Thanks for posting and making us drool!

Truly a great pick and nice images as usual but do you think it will get a Red designation upon re-slabbing? Has it gone to Red Brown or is it still red?

Thanks folks!
And I too worry that it won't reholder as RD, but it's in a modern holder so can't have been done all that long ago. But I think you can request it not be reholdered if the grade would drop so there is some protection against losing ground. If I were to grade it I would have called it MS65RB, but I'm not the one putting the labels on them.

Hey batts I'm pretty sure if you get it reholdered they don't regrade it, just send it over to the variety guys and verify the variety. Could be wrong. Nice coin btw.

That's a beauty, a very nice RPM. Hopefully it will get the red designation. Usually they don't re-grade the coin if what I've seen is correct, they just attribute it with the correct label. Don't quote me on that but I think it should remain a red example.

Incredible. At that level of coin, you think every detail would be picked over.
