merclover Bedrock of the Community United States 10635 Posts	Posted 03/24/2021 01:34 am The streaking looks like a coating that has unevenly worn off. If not a coating, perhaps it was dipped in some sort of chemical that left a stain. Somehow it was exposed to "something" that left a residue. Overall, the cause isn't important, it's simply post mint damage. It could be the silver tarnishing, but I don't think it would tarnish unevenly..I also don't think it's a coin clashing either considering the area it covers (looking at the reverse). Celebrate the fact it is a wartime silver nickel, otherwise it's basically an almost 80 year old coin with a fair amount of wear to it. Report this Post to the Staff

Sound it is not the best test. 800 Si and 900Si at the same dimension and weight do not have same sound. Report this Post to the Staff
