Took this by the shop today they said dunno could go either way should it recirculate or sit in a nice case

As this is a copper-plated zinc coin, it cannot be a lamination. There is definite PMD on this, so it is hard to say if there may actually be a genuine strike-through somewhere in there. I believe it is all damage.

Agree, not a lamination issue (by definition). Looks like post strike damage to me. Perhaps next stop would be a tip jar.

Just a damaged coin. Not worth spending 5 cents to preserve a coin that is only worth face value. Coin damage is not a mint error. It is never worth more than face.

Just post mint damage ( PMD). The only reason the shop mentioned a nice case was to sell you one.

With absolutely all due respect, I would find another coin shop to visit if you are trying to learn, ask or gather any information about your coins. IMHO, any good coin shop rep would have seen this is PMD from a mile away. Good luck.
