1979 D Penny - Repunched Mint Mark / RPM Or Common '79 MM Punch?

Bogiesmokes Valued Member United States 197 Posts	Posted 06/12/2021 12:43 pm I've read past posts with Coop explaining how 1979 D pennies often have mint marks that can look like a rpm but actually was a somewhat common damaged mint mark punch for that year. But I think I see more than just the bottom left split serif that mainly characterized the damaged mm punch, both to the north and to the northeast/east edge - anyone else see a second 'D'? Seen on many cent dies as well as other denominations as well: They can have a RPM on it but this area doesn't count as it is not a miss punching, but punch damage, but most do not a RPM.
