Hi Modern Coins Forum,

I am a straight up newbie to this coin collecting. My daughter passed away last month so I started this hobby to keep me busy.

I have a 2018 Minnesota Voyageur coin that either looks like DDO or a machine error. Could someone please help me tell the difference? I am uploading a few pictures with some arrows to the errors I spotted.

Thank you in advance for your help and kindness.

Lisa

. Sorry for your loss. Your coin looks like DDD=die deterioration doubling and light induced doubling. Not a DDO.

On the DDO's the devices have a different look to them:

Normal one with Machine Doubling and the DDO with the distorted motto devices.

So sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope the coin collecting is helping to distract from your grief.

I find it clears my mind and helps me relax.
