This is the second of two Victoria cents I plucked today from a shop's accumulation of unsorted material. Wear is minimal but there's a fair amount of soft gunk deposited on the reverse (not corrosion of any sort), which I believe a soak in distilled water will completely remedy. What numerical grade would you consider this to be?

Wear-wise AU but the stuff on the reverse looks like more than gunk. Almost all circulated Vickies have gunk in the nooks and crannies. This iis something else. You have picked up 2 nice coins from a dealer that has some bargains. Don't tell anyone where it is.

Re: the gunk. It's just some sort of organic goo deposited on the surface. I remain confident that a water soak will remedy the situation.
