Thanks to a certain amphibian of the Coin World and his 60000'th post contest I won a prize. Today that prize came in. I got a letter. In that letter was an authentic and genuine Counterfeit Henning Nickel. The Nickel: As you can see it has the marks of a Henning, the R and no P on a 1944 (War Time Silver nickel) The weight of the Henning is 5.2 grams. Compared to 5.0 grams for a regular nickel And 4.9 for a war time silver nickel So thank you Mr. Frog for an authentic, genuine and counterfeit Henning Nickel. I found out the ICG will certify it for its being sent off tomorrow. And for those that don't know about Henning Nickels, here is some light reading. https://medium.com/collectibles-his...d19fecdb2d99

This is the prize from my 60K post contest. As I'm sure Helder will attest, the old scratch is hardly visible in hand.

Mr. Frog is correct, you can notice it in the picture as I'm using a full frame DSLR with a Macro Lens, I didn't even notice the scratch until I saw the image. I was checking out the coin and didn't even see it with the loupe.

The Frog does not disappoint! ICG will certify, that's great news.

That's a counterfeit of a US minted Jefferson nickel, looks like an authentic and/or genuine "Henning" Nickel. To have it slabbed will be very becoming of it.... Edited: and a belated...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you....

None of the 3 top TPGs will slab it? John1

@greasy fingers, thank you for the birthday wish. And I agree it will be very becoming when it gets slabbed in a yellow ICG label (educational label) @john1, none of the other TPG's will slab counterfeits. Anacs considered it because of the story but decided to pass. ICG was the only one that would slab it.

The poison dart of the Coin World out did himself. I am extremely happy to get the Henning Nickel! But what about poor Charlie the King Charles Cavalier, am I supppsed to let the USPS keep him? Who is going to walk him?
