Hi- I have a 1947 D penny. The word Liberty is stamped LDBERTY
And the B is kinda double stamped. I'm totally new at this coin thing and was just wondering what this error is called?
Thank you!

To the CCF

That is called a Die Chip.
A piece of the striking die has broken of off. Not uncommon and adds little value.

Given the one photo posted (wish it were closer-in), it does look like a die chip. Perhaps some circulation-related flattening also.

. Need better photo, close up. Either a die chip known as a BIE or just PMD.

Sorry, 1 last post. This is a different view. Still a die chip, right?
