Definitely a proof. The grainy details inside the numbers of the date, laser sharp arrow shafts, and rims are a dead giveaway. Toughie for the numerical grade. There is light cabinet rub, but also some deeper scuffs east of Miss Liberty. It looks like it has been through some conservation, with possible very light pitting. As you said, straight grade. Not a CAM. I'm thinking mid-grade, maybe PR-63?

The coin looks superbly struck with no signs of wear or damage. Unfortunately it looks like someone sneezed on the obverse and the droplets disturbed the fragile surface of the coin. The same seems to have happened to a lesser extent in the reverse, but I also see extensive contact discoloration in the eagle's right wing (our left). The reverse star field also seems disturbed with flecked surface damage. I think the technical grade is gem, but takes it on the chin on eye appeal. Maybe PF63 is the right grade as fortcollins notes.

PCGS says 'no problem', but not for some collectors, due to the blotchiness. PF-65

Lacks curb appeal, PF-64 tops. Not a fan.

It wouldn't surprise me if this graded pf 65, but I think they knocked it for all the spots. I'll split the difference and go pf64. Nah there are too many spots they are going to knock it.pf-63. I don't think there's that many spots that it graded a pf 62. I'm sticking with pf-63.

Not a Proof Barber Half that I would love to own . I admit strike is nice but eye appeal to me is 5/10 , the brown toning on reverse I can see , but what the heck is all those green blotchy spots ? PCGS says PF-65 .

Quote: the green pvc or whatever it is hurt it. @Jon Brand, I was going to say that you may be spot on with the PVC call, but I'd be group-slapped for that pun. As Barber halves go, 1910 is a pretty common proof. I've seen some really nice examples over the years. Slab or no slab, this one comes up short. Unless it runs into a buyer with "gotta have it" syndrome, I think it would be a hard sell on a bourse floor.

I would agree with those in the PF-63 camp.
