Some of you may have read the thread I posted a couple of months or so ago regarding my starting an Indian Head cent set. To make it challenging, I decided at the very beginning that each coin would not only be graded by PCGS and have a CAC, but must also have Rick Snow's Eagle Eye Photo Seal. With me putting in a lot of time, looking at all major auctions, regularly searching collectorscorner.com, and working with Rick Snow and some dealers willing to work with Rick at shows ( ANA and Long Beach), I now have 21 coins in my set (I had two to start from my Type Set). Here are my three latest acquisitions, from the Long Beach show: And here's a link to my set for those that are still interested: https://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/ha...edset/266583Steve

I am impressed by your desire to challenge yourself to have such a uniform and impressive collection. Once the collection is entirely completed, this will be a stunning set to view in hand. Very nice on the new pickups!

Yeah, good luck finding the 1877 and 1909-S in those lofty grades . Not to mention the hard years 1869 to 1872... I'm sure you will get them eventually... Oh yeah, also the 1864L would be hard to get.

Very nice on the new pickups! Thank you so VERY much. While I'm in NO rush to complete this set (patience helps), once it's completed I'll talk to some key people to ask if by chance they feel it's worthwhile by being beneficial to others to include this set in the exhibits at a Winter FUN show (it's only about a three hour drive from where I live). I've never exhibited before. Quote: Yeah, good luck finding the 1877 and 1909-S in those lofty grades . Not to mention the hard years 1869 to 1872... I'm sure you will get them eventually... Oh yeah, also the 1864L would be hard to get. Rick is on the hunt for me for a nice 1877. He says he knows where most of them are, it's just a matter of convincing someone that this is a good time to sell. Regarding the 1909-S, I've got my eye on the month end Legend Regency auction. Cross your fingers! If you click on the hotlink in my original post above to my Indian Head set, despite me being in no rush, you'll see I already have a nice 1869 65RB (CAC pop only 36), 1870 65RB (CAC pop only 32) and an 1871 65 +RB ( PCGS pop ONLY 2, with only 3 graded finer by PCGS in RB!). I also have an 1864 L on Ribbon MS64RB. When I first started the set a few months ago, I originally was going for 64RB as a minimum, and this was one of those. However, I recently decided to go with 65RB as a minimum (perhaps not for the 1877), so I'll be looking to upgrade my 1864L, as well as a few others. Thanks to nickelsearcher, hfjacinto, and CoinHunter4 for your kind comments.
A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine! My collecting "Pride & Joy" is my PCGS Registry Dansco 7070 Set: https://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/ty...edset/213996

I was unaware that PGCS does not include a color designation for IHC.

Quote:I was unaware that PGCS does not include a color designation for IHC. They do for the bronze issues (1864-1909), but not for the copper-nickel issues (1859-1864). Note the 3rd one shown is 1903 with a RD designation; the other two shown are both copper-nickel.
