Just how easy is it to melt a coin and drip molten metal?

Not very I don't think - 1862 British Indian rupees have various dot patterns (reasons unclear) that are reportedly faked with little drops of melted metal.

Pics are still not good enough.
Please do not rotate them also.

The metal looks like it has been folded over.
Either due to PMD or maybe a planchet issue.
Not a cud.
And not melted/dropped metal.
A man who tells lies merely hides the truth. But a man who tells half-lies has forgotten where he put it.

Just noticed this on Ebay, similar to the PMD Coins on Ebay when it started in Oz.
Never can be 100% sure but at the time,1990's,Dealers were au fait of the process of artificially introduced 'Cud'.
The technique probably goes back to when Coins were first Minted in Oz.,just that Ebay gave the tricksters a market place for the naive.
