The mirrored finish is undeniable the pics do it no justice .. along with the smoothness and feel and the frosted features. Also I compared it to a brand new unc standard penny and it's night and day the difference

can you place the coin on a flat surface then zoom in on it to get a getter picture? Edit: Oh! and be sure to crop your pictures to the coins edges to maximize the image of the coin. ...and... Edited by Dearborn

Welcome to the forum. I can assure you that what you have is a normal business strike Lincoln Shield cent from Philadelphia. The proofs came from San Fran. A lot of the 2021's do indeed have a blinding mirror like finish. Also, you mentioned you were feeling the smoothness and frosting on the coin. I would suggest not touching any coin on its surfaces with bare fingers or basically anything for that matter. You could easily damage a valuable coin and not even know it. |

My coin def has a finish more like the s model on that comparison image and I didn't say I felt frost I said I saw frost features and by smooth I meant the outer rim however I did touch it when I pulled out my pocket change because I got that back from somewhere yesterday snd I didn't realize it was different until I was going thru my daily change like I do every night just to see if I got anything neat that day

It is just a nice BU coin. Which is an easy find on the current year of coins. Save for an album or put into a 2X2 to give to a new collector. You might be starting a new one. Even children/grandchildren might want to be collector as well?

Pretty looking cent probably from fresh dies and perhaps semi proof like in appearance but it looks like a nice UNC business strike to me, not a proof.

By the continued replies, I get the feeling the OP still thinks this is a proof cent. As Bumpkin and coop has pointed out, the only 2021 proofs are minted in San Francisco. Period.  |

to the forum! Nice looking coin, with a cartwheel but just a well struck business coin that has had the high points scuffed, that's what you see as a "frosting". Added: There was something I said last night that did not resonate until this morning. The term I used (cartwheel), usually refers to the area I've pointed out on your coin and is typically seen on uncirculated business strikes, where a proof does not have this, it is more of a mirror look. You can also see the cartwheel on coop's pic above. So here is your coin and a coin I was fortunate enough to own for a short time, to show the difference.   -makecents-
