Hi everyone
I am wondering if normal wear would cause the finish to look so gray. It reminds me of aluminum foil after it's been heated in the oven after the steam hits it. The weight is 5.04. Normal thickness when held up to other quarters.
Any opinions would be helpful.
& thanks.

Post-strike damage, likely caused by exposure to a corrosive environment. I've seen similar while going through thousands and thousands of quarters.
