I am not sure, this seller was selling 5 Jefferson nickels
1938 proof
1939 proof
1940 proof
THIS COIN and a
1950 proof and all the coins were packaged in a 2x2 just like this coin I have pictured.
( I won it! )

I was thinking it could have been a proof 1942 P TY 2 and just by error, the seller or original owner did not identify it as such.
I bid 35.00 with a snipe bid, because it looks like it just might have been a proof and then, well, it is such a nice example of a 1942 P War Nickel, I am not going to the poor house buying it anyway.

I got it dirt cheap anyway so either way, I am happy but what do you guys think? Could it be? Maybe? Did I get a proof coin listed as a GEM?

No, I think I got a proof Maybe that was listed as an UNC. Even if it isn't a Proof ( which I think it could be ) I got a nice nickel.

The verdict is in we are 95% sure this is a proof.
I took better pictures. Sent them to an expert and we both think this is a proof.
