Hi again,
Recent aquisition has a nice lamination crack from rim to rim.
My thoughts are that the underlying flaw caused the metal below the shield to collapse on impact resulting in the weakness / no stamp below. Any other thoughts?

Also, I'm not happy with the muck on the obverse legend which has been really highlighted by a poor effort at cleaning in the past. Would Verdi-Care be useful in this application or is the colouring from PVC?
Any advice appreciated, as I don't want to "2x2-it" until it looks a tad better.

Cheers TT

Sounds plausible - there may have been some gas below the shield.

Re the gunk, I'd try a toothpick with some acetone and see if that shifts it.

Thanks for the feedback Mr T.

I actually posted a results topic on a different forum regarding the acetone and Verdi-Care as this one went quiet on me.

Having read all the responses I am very surprised that there was not one suggestion of an angle grinder. Pretty confident that will get that darn discolouration sorted! lol
