doesn't appear to be either a raised area or digging into the die face. Stain on the surface does appear to be likely with these photos.

Those line you see are part of the design. I find this on all. One of my collaborators tell me about baby face. In the circle I put you can see. Is fun, it is not an error or such. Me I didn't find on my coins but others find. Just for fun I will put here the photo with the circle.

These were strange when they came out. I see the baby face, you can see a lot of things on one if you look long enough.

@Data: we can find real strange designs sometimes. For Pareidolia is different, This it is an neuro disease. I find insulting to use this name here, but peoples use.

PS on this Pareidolia it is a small part of the depression in cases of Schizophrenia.

I agree there are intentional things added to designs, but sometimes we just see things that arent actually there, or they are not in the design intentionally after all. If you look at your dollar bills closely, you will find what appears to be either a little spider or a tiny owl right near the large "1" at the top right of the dollar bill. You will see this in the upper-left area of the shield that surrounds the "1."
This symbol is an accidental occurrence from where the webbed lines vary in the design, and is not intentional.

Common examples of the term Pareidolia are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, seeing faces in inanimate objects, or lunar Pareidolia like the Man in the Moon or the Moon rabbit. Thats the only reason I used it. This topic is about the crescent in the coin, so lets all go back to the topic if anyone wants to add anything after I blew up the image since he cant apparently which seems to show a surface gunk or stain.

PS - Our results show that schizophrenia patients scored higher on Pareidolia measures than both healthy controls and patients with bipolar disorder. Our findings are agreement with prior findings on more impaired cognitive processes in schizophrenia than in bipolar patients seeing faces ( Pareidolia) where they arent there. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34955913/
