Moderators, radiators, gladiators, anti oxidators etc. This contest ends exactly 1 minute before midnight Eastern Time on Friday the 27th of Feb. I have won enough things on the CCF forum and thought it is my turn to run a contest. I have a little contest running right now - Please play along just for the fun of it! This was running over my 1 year membership anniversary and now I have reached my 600th post. My dubious Pillar status is celebrated by this idea I had thunk up about a month ago for a contest. I have simplified the contest rules. Here is the idea. When I got to collecting Jefferson nickels by roll searching and checking my change, I claimed to have gotten good enough at one time to bet I could come close or guess the date of a nickel just by looking at the back or reverse. So lets see how good you guys are. Or just take a guess. If my images are that bad that you can't read a mint mark, ask, I'll tell you what it is. There are 8 Jefferson's here pictured and labeled by letter A through H. This is open to USA members only with at least 50 posts. Other members PM me if you are out of US for approval as I might ask for postage. I may not approve or ship outside of US to some, nothing personal. To win, The one who has the best out of 8 guesses matched by letter to which are what dates they are will win the 8 nickels if you are a young numismatist, you'll win a bonus prize ( under 18 ). Yes there is a second prize for second closest guesses and third prize for the next best guesses, but only one prize per winner. Here are the nickels reverses A through H. First prize ALL the 8 nickels in the contest PLUS a 1939 D and a 1939 S circulated nickel plus I may add a bonus or two for the kids. Second prize Slabbed 1976 IKE Third prize 1999 S Golden toned proof nickel A LARGER IMAGE LINK FOR DOWNLOAD IS POSTED AT BOTTOM. You only get ONE guess. I had hoped to be better at coin photography by now but I am still struggling. But some of you are not looking for the mint mark that might just be on the right side of the Monticello building on some of the coins. Hello ? I think a second look and edit would be OK for anyone so far. Don't forget that these are not later than 1990 and not earlier than 1950 and that does not mean there is one from those years.
