Every once in while someone asks about security measures prior to, at and after a coin show. I've made such lists many times. As with the standard notations at the left, it may well be good idea to make a security type listing for coin shows at the left. Coin Show Security. I doubt that many people report here just how often these things happen. And in the area I live many, many, many robberies are just not reported or if they are they get burried. Must keep the statistics low you know.

What a shame. Always some piece of dirt who wants something for nothing. I hope his coins are recovered and these criminals pay!

just carl, I can tell you of another one, that happened, very recently, to one wjho is known to many of us on this, and other forums, GaryLCSR. He had a security system in place, and even had a front view of a person who had been "messing "with the camera. Unfortunately, whole Gary was visiting his wife in the hospital, someone got his safe, and laptop, (with the picture), and left him 'high, and dry". He now has a different security setup, and it is tied to the securioty, and police. That won't get his stuff back, but it will help him, in the event that "nice litte group" returns, in case they left something! I say group, is because it took three, or four to bring the safe into the house, in the first place.

Gary's wife, BTW, is doing good, and is HOME AGAIN!

Dick.. I'm so glad Gary's wife is now home. What a mess for them to have to go through - not only her being in the hospital but then a robbery as well.. ! I hope the scum are caught quick.

xshift, that is what Gary hopes, too, but it is not likely.
She had been home a day, or two before, but had some trouble, and they found two blood clots in her lung, and tghree, or four in her leg. The DR put her on cumoden, and she is okay now. lets hope she is Finally on the raod to recovery! Life has not been good to them for quite some time!
BTW Have you checked Garys new store? Here is a link:

Many people have no idea of how many times such robberies occur. Many are not reported and many that are reported just don't make the news. Our news media only puts out stories they think would make great news. If wrong, so what. It is horrible what happens to some people too during these robberies.
One neighbor of mine had his house robbed. They took the safe although bolted to the floor and wall. The worst part was that his wife was not well and this insident eventually triggered her hart attack and she then passed away. Another neighbor had his house robbed and unfortunately he was home. They beat and stabbed him. he survived but no will never collect coins again he said. The robbers insisted he had a fortune in coins somewhere or so they heard.
In high crime areas most of this type of robbery is burried by the local law inforcement or politicians. Looks bad you know.

So sorry to hear about what happened to Billy and Gary. Eventhough robberies occur every day it's always difficult when they happen. Such folks are pathetic. Hopefully they'll be caught in the act one day be arrested and put behind bars.
