I would appreciate any help or opinions regarding this coin, please. Does this look like a second, very lightly struck, S mintmark under the 9 in the date? Or is this a known die clash or other error for this date and mint? Or I'm I just seeing things? Thank you for your time and consideration.

Die crack. Well known for 1952s.

Odd-looking die crack, but I'm open to the idea. Can't believe it's an effaced MM punch.

I don't recall hearing of that die crack previously, but it certainly could be that. Or, perhaps a die dent? In any case, I'm not seeing this as a RPM among the 22 listed on varietyvista: http://www.varietyvista.com/02a%20L...%201952S.htm

I think it is a die crack.

As CentSation already stated, a die crack. Here is a link to one of tropicalbats threads, that shows it very well. It happened quite often on the 52's, all mints.
