This jefferson has every other year or so now, been the unsolved mystery tie in the collection. I have heard corrosive damage, and lamination error, but those do not adequately reflect these patterns in any case I've seen. Have a look. Either way I love this coin. So I wanted to share it with yall.

Well I'm not seeing this as a lam but perhaps uneven mixing of the alloy or preferential corrosion due to some parts of the surface being protected.

of that streak on Tom's cheek, perhaps this one was buried for awhile, and plant roots grew adjacent to it

once a coin is this damaged, figuring exactly what happened to it is mostly speculation
