Hello CCF members!

I would like to know whether this club is trustworthy or not.

It is The Koin Club. I think it works with Royal Mint?

I have been waiting for them to post my order since September.

Wondering if I lost my money or not.

I am crossing my fingers that it is not the case!

Kind regards.

For anyone who doesn't know about the Koin Club (which includes me), have a look at the Koin Club website, via Google.

After looking at the website, it appears to be quite OK.

I feel that the non delivery could be a delivery problem, not a Koin Club problem, and that would be my first line of follow up investigation.

Hello,

What have you ordered? Is it one of QEII commemoratives? I'm still waiting for my order from The Royal Mint due to demand.

Throughout all of my numismatic life, I have always preferred to examine every coin in hand, before deciding to buy.
To go with that, I always pay in cash.

Thanks to perterh for providing the link for the Koin Club reviews.

Recently, my personal medical records were hacked by a Russian based organization, along with my name, phone number and street address, and released onto the 'dark web', because the insurance company refused to pay the ransom.

Therefore I will be forced to strengthen my resolve to buy coins as per policy mentioned above.

If I am purchasing a non-circulating clad UK coins, I purchase from Westminster Collection rather than Koin Club since Westminster Collection tends to have quicker delivery times and they charge payment card when the coins are dispatched rather than at order time.

Do you mind sharing what you purchased from Koin Club?

Sorry to hear you're one of Medibanks hacked customers. I do kind of agree with what Medibank has done because: a) if a ransom is paid it just encourages further hacking and ransom demands and b) at least you know your info has been stolen and posted so you can take action. If the ransom was paid there is no guarantee, in fact sweet f.a. chance, that the data will be deleted. It will be sold via the black web down the track so for the rest of your life you will not know when it will be used for criminal activity.

I must apologise for not replying sooner! I had forgotten to subscribe to my post.

Anyway, I am pleased to confirm that I finally got my coins from The Koin Club after the long delay. Their excuse was that the high demand for the coins due to HRM's passing. They arrived last Tuesday.

Now I am glad I did as The Royal Mint charged more because they made/make lovely and informative presentation folders which I do not need.

I am glad I gave them a try.

@Sel_69l, I am so sorry to hear of your experience with Medibanks and I completely understand your feelings about paying in cash and seeing the coins in your hands.

@kena, they are 2021 50p coin, 2022 50p and 2022 £5 crown. First coin is commemorating Decimalisation and last two honouring her 70 years on the throne as the Queen.

Thank you for suggesting an alternative option to purchase.
