I don't have many coins in MS classes, for the sake of saving money, I often buy coins in low grades. But in my collection there are 2 coins that have visual appeal. 1)FRANKLIN-HALF-DOLLAR   2)Mercury-Dime

If you asked me on 10 different days I'd probably mention 10 different coins.  However, today I'll say these two. I'm a sucker for high-grade and lightly-toned Buffalo nickels, and though I'm a type collector I keep looking for excuses to add additional examples to my collection (I've got 13 Buffalo nickels so far...). Here's a recent beauty I picked up, a PR67 matte proof Type 2:  My avatar, this PR66 Morgan dollar, is often the one I say is my most eye-appealing coin, even with the fingerprint. The white dots around 8:00 on the obverse and near the eagle's neck on the reverse are actually on the inside of the holder, not the coin. The coloration shown in the TrueView pic is only a bit more dramatic than the coin in hand when viewing it at a slight angles in good light.

Thanks, Ty2020b! Years ago I preferred untoned coins, but gradually started to be drawn to coins with attractive toning. And Buffalo nickels often tone in fabulous shades of blue, gold and magenta!

this thread is great. I'm really enjoying everyones beautiful coins! here is a well circulated one that I find very charming. 1796 draped bust cents have pretty poor metal quality so finding them undamaged in a nice chocolate color is a challenge. they frequently exhibit weakness on the periferies on one side or the the other. the leading theory as to why that happens is that something about the blank cutting tool was causing them to be slightly curved. 1796 S-97 R-3 (one of the most common '96 draped busts)

Proving that a coin does not have to be high grade to have high appeal. Thanks for sharing.  And the high grade crowd keeps hitting it out of the park on this thread. Thanks y'all.

That 1796 cent is a very attractive example, CarrsCoins, even though worn. Nice consistent color and no real distractions. Early copper cents and half-cents have been one of the biggest challenges for my type set, and I still have a number of holes to fill there. Finding problem-free and attractive examples in the grades on my want list has been very tough...

 great example Carrs. And a great Baby Head Jack, I remember reading how you came across that one, great story! One more Buff for me. Not typically a huge rainbow/bullseye toning fanatic, but I've always liked this one. NGC MS65 CAC.

Great Trade dollar, jimbucks! Has a bit of cameo appearance to it. And, Ty2020b, I can see why you like that one, it's a great looking Buffalo nickel! A very nice spectrum of color at the periphery.
