Hard to see from picture, could be pushed metal from a hit mark or part of a clash.

Coin wrapper damage on the ear. The head looks like it was sanded, making if look more like an Ike Dime? (Bald) Liberty doesn't show wider devices, so I feel it was altered a bit.
