1965 Churchill Crown

An accomplished statesman who led Britain through the tumultuous World War II as an army officer, he went on to pick up the pieces of the United Kingdom after the war as the Prime Minister. Following his political career, he went on to become an eloquent writer and speaker. ijn1944 Bedrock of the Community United States 11173 Posts	Posted 01/25/2023 2:03 pm I've had several of these over the years, now down to my one best example--perhaps MS65. Personally, I like the coin, many others have issues with the design. They can be had on eBay for anywhere between $1-$10, in AU58 to mid-MS grades. Nearly 20 million minted so plenty still floating around in good grades, thus prices are pretty low. I wasn't aware WC was the first non-Royal on a crown. It was the first Elizabeth II British crown not to show a denomination (the 1953 and 1960 issues did) but traditionally most British crowns didn't show a denomination - the first ones to do so were the George V Wreath crowns of 1927. Most crowns don't, as noted by NumisRob above, and none of the gold coins (sovereigns and guineas) do.
