First, I am sure this is in the wrong place. If so, let me know and I will move it. I found this nickel in my wife's grandmother's penny and nickel books. I was thinking about getting it slabbed for her as it seems to be in excellent condition. Would it be worth the $38 to get it graded for her

Not worth the cost unless it grades MS-66. This one is nice, but not *that* nice. Good for keeping in an album or 2 x 2, though.

It needs to grade at least PR69 and I do not think it does. What TPG charges that amount to grade?http://m.numismedia.com/cgi-bin/coi...de2=pricesms

Yeah, , looks like an impaired proof, too lustrous for a circulation strike

please crop your images to the edge of your coins before posting - that way we get to see more of the coin and less of the table top.
This appears to be a nice proof, but can't tell much from this image.

Impossible to evaluate the coin from those small and bright photos - but agree it appears to be a proof strike and these are quite common.

I would not spend the $ on TPG certification.
