Need an ID on this a Zacatecas or more likely Durango and if genuine? No edge shots. Realeswatcher your opinion. See the reverse. Do early Zacatecas ever appear debased such as this reverse? I do not follow Durango 8's that closely.

Here is the original lot description: "Durango(?). Ferdinand VII "Royalist" 8 Reales ND About Fine, KM-Unl. 37.1mm. 27.43gm. Possibly an issue of Durango from the die style, though the portrait does not match any of the coins in Calico.
From the Maurice Storck Collection"

The Durango attribution was correct. Should be 1813... and I think a die match to the piece shown below.

ALL the early 1810s Durango are fascinating study pieces. SOOO many different busts ranging from crude to cartoonish... and weight, quality of strike, etc. are also all over the place.

Overall, I would lean towards this being "regal".

To echo realeswatcher - It's an 1813 Durango. I've seen this die before, as well. Here's another example from Aureo (2020)

Interesting coin John, and nice job on the attribution realeswatcher and TwoKopeiki. I know Swamperbob has some CCC Durango pieces in his book but I don't remember seeing any dated this early. I've been looking for a CCC Durango for a while but they are pricey and uncommon enough that I can't justify buying a bunch to sort through for low SG since they're all so crude!

I did pick up an 1813 MZ recently - thought it was a good one since it has the assayer/date/mintmark visible.
