Looks normal design. There may have been some die polishing that weakened some areas of the design. Try making a side by side with a normal coin and your coin to see if the ear area is actually larger, or reduced parts of the design on that ear area? The overall size looks normal. If it were a FS-101, then all the other hub doubling would also be present. If not, then it can't be from that die. The DDO is on other areas the design: Here is a list of what V.V shows as a description of the DDO: Quote: Description: Strong spread on LIBERTY, coat, and date. Note that the ear area is not included as part of the DDO? http://varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20...0PDDO001.htm

Hi coop, I was talking bout if there is a doubled ear variety to that year because only one is listed. To me the ear looks bigger. John I just want to know cause on that 88 do there's urs and the other one on a major site. But the same fs number. To help me out a lot is there lightning and filters that u have to use to see these doubled dies? Or is it just like your suggestion on taking pics just straight on? I've seen the 1955 DDO at my coin shop but these ear ones confuses me
