Here is a welll worn 1944 S LWC. That 9 in the date caught my eye, thru the wear and pushed me forward.
Close or no cigar? Look thru the wear on the date, angle of the L of LIBERTY to the rim. Bottom of the "I" in LIBERTY curled toward the rim. Motto similarities to 1DO-004.
And more. Seeing thru circulation damage can be difficult. Luke the hit on the lower serif in the MM. MM seems to line up with the 004.
Your thoughts.

Looks good to me. Like cajohn was implying, always compare the mint marks. I have made thousands of dollars by cherry picking coins solely from mint mark location.

Not 100% and do see your dilemma between DDO-001 and 1DO-004. I favor both for different reasons. VV's shape and size looks better to me but the mm placement looks better for cc's. Regardless, nice DDO find.

Thanks to you all for having a look and taking the time to help out on the comparisons. I as well lean toward the 004 based on the MM placement. The smashed lower serif doesn't make it much easier.
Thanks again.

Nice find Dowhat. Perfect timing on this post! I was looking into a DDO-OO1 last night and it can be hard with the life the coin has gone through.
