Hello! I have a 1939 nickel where it's lettering and numbering seem bubbled to me - is that a double strike? I know it's old and been around, so I don't know if it's normal for fonts to spread out like that. I am going to upload pictures of my coin vs. ones from google.
are the second set of images not your coin in your hand? They don't appear to be the same coin (just by looking at the big hit on the reverse of the second larger image of the reverse.) Are you using the second set as a comparison to your coin? I think your coin is suffering from extreme die wear and also circulation wear from all the years it had seen.

This answers your question @Dearborn
@bmason - please do not upload stock photos of general coins. All of our experts know what a normal coin looks like and the 'comparison' photo only serves to confuse the issue.
Yes, the second were for comparison. I did it in case I wasn't clear enough in my description and wanted to be sure they knew what I meant. I will make sure not to do that going forward. I apologize.
I actually take photos with my phone using an app called Mag Light, I will show you a screenshot. I then open and either crop it or adjust the size allowed for upload. I also use 2 different microscopes for close extremely detailed pictures.
