Just found this and doesn't look like damage to me. Any thoughts? If error, what next?

Crack. Is there something on his chin also?

Actually, the more I look at it, it looks like it might be damage, like something sharp scraped it.

Appears to be a scratch, need clearer pics to be sure

I'd like to see more pics if possible and different angles if at all possible. Looks like 50/50 for damage and strike going through head. I'm interested in the chin and what's going on on the facial features coming from hairline down the face to nose, if anyone can elaborate on what I'm seeing. Maybe damage too.

Upon closer inspection...I do believe it is a scratch. Based on angle of lighting and the shadows. Thanks for helping me focus.

Adding two images one with and another of a coin without scratch/error for those who wanted more pics to look at the chin. I agree the one with the 'scratch' looks different but the coin is more damaged than the one in the other picture.

yep, on that initial coin - a scratch on its surface is what I see.

If it was a scratch, it would be raised. That mark is incuse and looks more like a gouge. In any case it is PMD.

No Jimmy, I'm saying that it is a scratch on the dime not the die. A scrath on the coin itself will be incuse, wit some of it raised up when the metal was displaced.
