The US Mint raised the price in February from $105 to $130. Price of silver was 22.29 an ounce at the time of the price increase. The price has gone up over $1.00 in 24 hours and sits at $25.29 as of this posting. If it continues to climb, no telling what the mint will do with price when they come out later this year.

Good Lord I am on the list for ordering the 2023 Morgans and Peace dollars. Silver closed today just over $25.00. What are the silver dollars going to cost me? WOW

Totally irrelevant. Those that want one will buy one no matter the price . Times are tough ! I remember buying gas at 40 cents a gallon and renting my First apt for 90 bucks a month . Oh and Saint 20s @ 45 dollars each.

The price per oz of silver today has little impact on the pricing for the USM products. There are many more impactful costs (labor, manufacturing, distribution, etc) that lead to the increases. A month ago silver was $20/oz. By this summer it could be back to that price (or below) or could be $30/oz (or more) there being no change in the price of these items. Silver fluctuates all day/every day and has been on a wild ride lately.

I agree with Data, the prices are already set and updated in their data bases.
Just be glad the US Mint does not do business like the UK Mint. I had a very hard time trying to buy a silver Charles III 2 pound coin - every 30 seconds or so the price changed by a miniscule amount according to the spot prices. So if you were slow, or had bad internet connections, you had to keep updating the page, quickly select and pay before the next update - 30 seconds later......

Thanks for the information. As far as the Totally Irreverent comment, it is irrelevant to some people. I've heard some aren't buying the silver proofs because the increased price. Not everyone on this forum are as fortunate to afford these. Some might said that it is expensive to collect coins which it is depending on what you collect. You have some new people starting to collect coins by filling Harris albums with circulated coins.

Quote: I remember buying gas at 40 cents a gallon I actually remember paying $.29 a gallon for gas when I was a teenager... Cigarettes were $.35 a pack! Right now in Illinois just the State and Fed tax is about $.60 a gallon!

@Dearborn If you were ordering the 2023 Charkes III Britannia from The Royal Mint, it is a bullion coin and fluctuates just as an ASE or Maple Leaf do. The difference us that The Royal Mint sells bullion coins directly on their site whereas the USM and RCM do not. So it is as if you were buying an ASE from one of the distributors and the pring changes.

I know it was a bullion, but the update time was way too quick for me to keep up, eventually I managed to get the timing correct and get the coin. I have not yet tried to buy bullion from a 'bullion' seller yet, so I had no comparison (yet)

Quote: Right now in Illinois just the State and Fed tax is about $.60 a gallon! We pay 61.1 cents per gallon PA tax alone. I thought all mint products (AG & AU) were adjusted based on the price of the metals. Prices change on Wednesdays if I remember correctly.

And that's why I'm glad to live only 11 miles from West Virginia. Filled up today at $3.35 ($3.15 with a loyalty card) per gallon when it's $3.89 in PA. I have not bought a single gallon in my own state going on two years. I outright refuse.
