@man, looks to me like the gold plating has largely been worn away revealing a base metal interior. If this is supposed to be gold, then I don't see how it isn't a fake. What is the weight?

Ok I understand. This isn't my area of expertise, but I don't see how this can be a real gold coin. I'd pass.

I'd by it because I collect coins like that, make tests, weights & measures with photos and add the pages to my album.

The coin is definitely not genuine and not gold. My initial impression is that it is a recently made numismatic forgery - not a coin made to circulate.

If it costs more than $15 US I would pass on it.

I'd pay more because I'm always on the lookout to add more variety to the collection.
I have so much common or ordinary but also more interesting pieces.
I like to find pieces not already on hand.
