Here's an 1868 Seated Liberty quarter that I was interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on.

I'm suspicious of this for several reasons. I compared it to another genuine example and noticed some differences. The base of the numeral 1 should be closer to the numeral 8. The upper curve of the 6 appears to be narrower on this coin than the genuine example I am looking at. Then there appears to be varying sizes of the denticles on this coin that I don't see on the genuine. Then there is that disturbance in the field between the stars and the right arm of lady liberty, a grainy appearance to the obverse devices and possible a few pimples in the fields.

It looks like a cast counterfeit. Grainy surfaces and lack of detail. I always check market value, if genuine, this piece is a better date worth $1,000 in AU50. I wouldn't touch it.

Cast counterfeit no doubt. Porous surface and wonky date numerals show the lack of quality casting.

What @MisterT said and more. Look at the tops of the 8s - aren't they supposed to be round? [puke emoji]

All right, I was leaning toward it being fake. Thanks for confirming my suspicions, everyone.
