I just started going thru my collection of earlier dated coins and got stumped on this one.
I see there are 3 different types of heads and several different types of hair.
I could use some help starting with this one! (I have alot to learn)

The pic looks kinda funny. I am not sure if it really has been cleaned. It could just be unnaturally bright photo.

Yes I'm pretty sure it's uncleaned. The actual color is darker brown.

And the variety number is N-8, the only Petite head in 1839. The Petitie head stayed in use for 1840 - the first part of 1843. (There are 15 varieties in 1843, 11 of them are Petite heads.)
